Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) therapies are two of the few forms of psychotherapy that has been scientifically tested and found to be effective in hundreds of clinical trials for many different disorders.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

CBT is usually more focused on the present and more oriented towards problem-solving than other forms of therapy. You will learn to identify distorted thinking and maladaptive beliefs than lead to psychological distress and make changes in your behavior and your thinking pattern with my help.

ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY

ACT gets its name from one of its core messages: accept what is out of your personal control, and commit to valued action that improves and enriches your life. ACT is usually more focused on teaching you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and feelings effectively. This form of psychotherapy helps you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you in order to inspire you to change your life for the better.

HYPNOSIS

Hypnosis typically involves an introduction on the procedure during which the person is told that suggestions for imaginative experiences will be presented. The hypnotic induction is an extended initial suggestion for using one’s imagination (Division 30 of the American Psychological Association).

Methods associated with hypnotic relaxation such as focusing one’s attention, mental imagery, and suggestions for physical emotional relaxation and health have been practiced for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years. The history of modern hypnosis began with Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815). During the latter half of the 20th century and leading up to the present time, there has been an increasing amount of empirical research to test the effectiveness of hypnotic interventions.

Perhaps our favorite principle because it is so positive and empowering is that hypnosis brings in life the belief that people have more strengths and resources than they realize, particularly when they are preoccupied with feeling symptomatic and powerless. The antithesis of feeling resourceful!
